Chile is a whole world on is own! From the coast to the Andes this long strip of beauty is a paradise to most. The country is one of a kind in its shape and its size. If you over-layed Chile on the USA, it would stretch from Maine to California! Chile is a very coastal country, located on the most entire west coast of South America the size is incredible, with an area of about twice the size of Montana. Chile's capital of Santiago is located in the central regions of the country. Chile is also known for its much active earthquake and volcano regions, due to its location along the ring of fire. Not very much of the land in Chile is used for farming surprisingly, most of the area is infertile. However the area is rich in metals such as Copper, iron, and other precious metals. Because of the many Cities and populated areas, pollution is a big problem. But just like the USA there is much effort being put in to help this problem.
Life in Chile:
With a current population of 16,284,741 (Country Reports) this county has a ton to offer, but to get around your going to need to brush up on your Spanish because the major language used in Chile is Spanish (Info please.com). However, if you are in for business you wont need it because in the business world English is mostly used. The country is mainly White with a few other immigrants of different ethnicity. Most of the population is Catholic, and some protestant. Life is pretty promising in Chile with a life expectancy around 77 years! And proper schooling up to 14 years is offered. There are common gestures and edict used in Chile that would be familiar to Americans such as handshakes and hugs. Several Festivals are also celebrated in Chile and are a big part of there culture.

Weather in Chile is somewhat similar to weather in Colorado, different ares of the country have different climates. In the North in the desert of San Pedro de Atacama, days tend to be hot and the nights are incredibly cold! Year round temperatures range from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, which is around 65 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (enjoy Chile.com). However, in the central region the temperature is much colder and snow and precipitation is very common. Ranging in the mid 50's Fahrenheit in the central region. On the islands of Chile and the coastal, temperature is determined by ocean currents with temperature usually colder and precipitation almost daily. Easter island, one of the famous islands of the world is usually visited in the winter months, October through February when precipitation is at its least.

The government contains a Supreme Court, a Senate and several other branches to enforce the law. The laws of Chile are based off of the founders of the nation and the Spanish Law. Many laws are influenced bu the counties strict Roman Catholic nature. Some laws influences by this are laws that make abortion illegal. Unlike the USA, Chile has 10 political parties to voice all the population's opinions. Chiles main form of currency is the Chilean peso. Chile's economy is helped by the agriculture exports of grapes, apples, pears, onions, wheat, corn, oats, peaches, garlic, asparagus, beans; beef, poultry, wool; fish and timber. The top export from Chile is copper and seafood. Their industries producing these exports include; copper, other minerals, foodstuffs, fish processing, iron and steel, wood and wood products, transport equipment, cement, textiles. Main imports of Chile include many Military equipment, oil, and gas. Also they import household items such as Computers and other technologies.
